Information on use of cookies by the website

Cookies are used to improve current and future use of the site.

A cookie is a small text file that a site saves on the user's computer or mobile device as he or she browses the site. Thanks to cookies the site remembers the actions and preferences expressed (for example authentication to reserved areas, the language selected or other display settings) so the user doesn't have to re-insert it when returning to the site or browsing from one page to another. Cookies are also used to check the views made by new or past visitors and to save certain anonymous or impersonal information, relating to their page browsing (inbound links, outbound links, navigation among the pages, permanence time, etc.).

Using the site, the user accepts the ‘proprietary’ or third party cookies installed on his/her device, as indicated on the ‘List of cookies used’, outlined below.

By disabling saving of all or some of the cookies, browsing of the site (or certain sections of it) can be compromised or limited due to the absence of functionalities.

What types of cookies exist and with what properties

Cookies are differentiated based on their duration, the domain and their function. The bottom of the page provides a list of cookies used along with their properties and purposes.

Session

They are temporary files that are saved until the site is abandoned (or the browser is closed).

Persistent

They are files that are saved on the hard drive and also maintained after the site is abandoned and the browser closed. They are only erased after the expiry date indicated on the cookie itself.

Proprietary

They are files installed on the user's device directly by the site you are browsing.

Third party

They are files installed by external sites, using code integrated on the pages of the site you are browsing. Third party cookies are, for example, those installed by social plugins (to share content) or visit analysis cookies.

Technical and indispensable

They are essential for correct functioning of the site pages. Without these cookies some functionalities could be compromised and access to the contents could be limited. They allow, for example, to keep track of the authentication made by the user or the site administrator. These cookies do not gather any personal information on the user.

Functionality

They are cookies used to save the choices made by the user to improve his/her browsing (for example the language, or pre-compile a form with the name previously used). These cookies may include personal information (for example the user name). Without these cookies some functionalities and browsing among the pages could be compromised.

Performance

These cookies are used to understand: if users are new or returning, how they use the site, how you move among the pages or on the site, how long you stay in the pages or the site, and the geographical location of the site users. The data do not identify the user as a person, but are anonymously aggregated by the analysis tools. Their de-activation does not compromise the functionalities offered by the site in any way.

Social widgets

Some widgets made available by social networks (for example Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Google Maps, etc.) can use third party cookies. De-activation does not compromise site use, unless in the sections with widgets installed (for example, to integrate videos or maps) and in some cases the possibility of quickly sharing contents or the possibility of commenting on some areas of the site.

Advertising

Advertising cookies are installed to show visitors of the site contents relating to their preferences. They can therefore be used to show advertising content aimed at the person's interests. These cookies work in collaboration with third party sites and can track past navigation on pages on different domains. These cookies only track the user's IP address, as well as other information, some of which can be personal.

Google Analytics

Our pages use performance cookies of third party Google Analytics (service offered by Google, Inc.) to allow us to gather anonymous data and examine visitor behaviour during site use and improve its use and the use experience.

Using the Google Analytics panel, we can understand if the visits are by new visitors or returning visitors, checking the method used to browse the pages (inbound links, outbound links, movements among the pages, permanence time, geographical location, etc.).
For further information on Google Analytics you can consult the sites:

You can disable Google Analytics using the tools provided by Google. For further information on this, consult the site: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout

Buttons and widgets on social networks

To ensure the content of a site can be shared on social networks by visitors of the site, you can integrate widgets made available by the social networks on the pages.

These tools (usually blocks of code inserted on pages of the host site) can gather third party cookies installed by social networks (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.); the site does not share any information on these widgets.

Managing and erasing cookies

To disable use of all or just some cookies the browser settings (Firefox, Chrome, Explorer, Safari, Opera, etc.) need to be changed.

Usually, browsers are pre-set to accept cookies, unless they are differently configured by the user.

You can ensure the browser blocks certain or all cookies, or presents a message to the user before proceeding with installation of a cookie.
